What We Need From You Before Your First Appointment

Workers comp is a paperwork-heavy beast, and we need a few specific items to get your treatment underway and your billing sorted. We can’t chase these for you — but your case manager can usually pull them together quickly.

Please email the following to hello@cityphysio.com.au at least 24 hours before your appointment:

  1. Referral letter from your GP or specialist (or your Certificate of Capacity)
  2. Claim number
  3. Insurer name and contact details
  4. Case manager’s name, phone, and email
  5. Letter of Liability (confirms your claim has been accepted)
  6. Any scans or imaging reports relevant to your injury
  7. Any previous treatment notes if you’ve seen another physio for this injury

If your claim hasn’t been accepted yet — that’s okay, talk to us. We’ll work out the best approach. Call 9223 1575.

If your case manager isn’t responding — we know the feeling. Email us anyway and we’ll help you work out next steps.

Workers Comp FAQ

Do I need a referral to see a workers comp physio?
In most cases, yes — a referral from your GP or specialist is required to initiate a workers compensation claim. Once your claim is accepted and you have a claim number, you can book directly with us.

Will I pay anything out of pocket?
No. Hopefully! Once your claim is accepted, and we have all the paperwork, we bill your insurer directly. You won’t be charged at the time of treatment.

How quickly can I get an appointment?
Workers comp bookings are prioritised. We aim to see new patients within 24–72 hours. Early intervention is the single biggest factor in fast recovery. The holdup for us is often the paperwork so we’ll work with you to get everything as fast as possible!

Can I change physios mid-claim?
Yes. You can change your treating physiotherapist at any point during your claim. Just run this past your case manager and we can organise it with them! We’ll request your previous treatment records and pick straight up from there.

Is City Physio SIRA approved?
Yes. All our physios are SIRA registered and well-versed in navigating the NSW workers compensation system. Its confusing but we’re surprisingly good at it!

My case manager hasn’t replied. What do I do?
Email us anyway at hello@cityphysio.com.au — we’ll help you work out next steps. We deal with this a lot.
